You are about to share your financial information with us. Here is exactly what happens to it.
Bank statements, identity documents, accounts where they are needed, and whatever you tell us on a call. This is the point at which most people hesitate, and it is a reasonable place to hesitate. Very few brokers will tell you where any of it actually sits, who can open it, or how long it is kept.
What happens to what you send
Where it is held
Everything you send us. Bank statements, identity documents, proof of address, accounts, and on a property case the valuation and legal paperwork that follows.
All of it sits in encrypted, access-controlled storage located in the United Kingdom, in a jurisdiction the UK recognises as providing an adequate level of protection, or elsewhere under safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
Not in an inbox. Not on a shared drive. Not on anyone’s laptop. Agreements are executed through a secure electronic signature platform rather than by printing, signing and photographing.
Who can open it
Client identity documents, bank statements and financial documentation are not provided to personnel outside the United Kingdom.
Funding11 uses administrative and research support located overseas. That access is restricted to administrative and research work, is carried out under the Information Commissioner’s Office International Data Transfer Agreement, and is subject to written confidentiality obligations. Client financial documentation is excluded from it entirely.
Who it is shared with
Lending partners, for the purpose of assessing and arranging finance. Nobody else.
Funding11 is not a marketplace and does not circulate a case across a panel to see who responds. A case is submitted to the lending partner whose underwriting criteria it actually fits, and you are told which partner before you commit to anything.
When we ask for it
Once a case appears genuinely viable, and not before. Documentation is not collected in order to establish whether a conversation is worth having.
What we do not do
We do not sell data, to lead generators, to other brokers, or to anyone else. We do not run consumer credit searches. We do not pass your details to a panel of lenders to see who bites.
Credit searches
Some checks leave no mark on a file. Some do. Which is which is explained before anything runs, and a search that leaves a mark only happens once you have seen the terms and decided to proceed.
On automated tools
Funding11 uses secure technology platforms to assist with document review, financial analysis, fraud detection and application preparation. They make the work faster and more accurate.
They do not make decisions. Every assessment, every recommendation and every communication is reviewed by a person before it reaches you.
What you say, not just what you send
Telephone calls may be recorded and communications retained, for compliance, quality assurance, fraud prevention and dispute resolution. It also means there is an accurate record of what was said.
That includes the difficult parts. A bad year, a judgment, a facility that went wrong. Those notes are treated exactly the same way as the documents, and they are not repeated to anyone outside the case.
How long information is kept
Six years following the end of the commercial relationship, which is the standard retention period for financial records. Longer only where the law requires it, or where the information relates to a live dispute or enquiry.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, ask for it to be deleted or restricted, object to how it is being used, or ask for it to be transferred elsewhere. No charge applies and we respond within one calendar month.

If anything here matters to you, ask before you send anything. We would rather answer it now.
Send six months of statements and you will know where you stand, usually the same day.
